How do I go into spectator mode in Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2?

I’ve been seeing videos and hearing about spectator mode for multiplayer in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, where you can go out of the map and look around.How do I do this?I have it for xbox.

    Private matches when you pick your team, it will be their.

    Go a start a Private match. In game rules in the bottom left it will say Spectator, change that to free and set the time to unlimited if it is not already chosen and start. When it starts choose change teams and select spectator and have fun.

    Honestly, you cant go into spectator mode in a ranked match, But if you really feel the need to, go and host a private match and it should be were the team selection page is. :)

    In a private match press select team then spectator.

    also when youre in hardcore team deathmatch (amongst other game styles) when you are waiting to respawn you will be in spectator mode for a short time.
