i wouldnt say no, but i wouldnt say yes either, its got some blood (bullet hitting someone, no blood on walls) and on a scale of 1-10, i would say about a 7-8. not as violent as gears of war but a little bit more violent than halo.

It isn’t violent enough to scare/influence a child. So you don’t need to worry about that. I wouldn’t let him go online though because that will scar him due to the amount of foul language and abuse thrown about by people in games.

I don’t think it would be suitable for him due to his age. The game is a bit worse then Modern Warfare 1. It has a lot of and gore, and some violent scenes, so based on what you have told me, I would not recommend COD MW2 to your son if he couldn’t handle it. On the other hand, if he has no trouble playing the game and doesn’t freak out or anything, then I say go for it!

Not too much. The no russian scene is an exception. You wont be seeing blood gushing out of people besides the occasional 20 dollar bills cartoonishly popping out of bodies when a payback kill is performed. The only blood I see in the game is when someone kills another with a knife, and i dont think your 12 year old will be doing much of that. I think this game would be suitable for your kid because it really does no harm due to the fact that he probably plays it at his friends house most days and with Xbox live he would be able to team up with his friends so they could have something to talk about at school. The best thing to do would be to wait for Call of Duty Black Ops because everyone will get it or if you are not comfortable with Call of Duty then get your son Halo Reach, a game most parents are comfortable with. Please don’t think I am weird because I play Call of Duty with my son. It sure brings back memories from the vietnam war. Hope this helps!
