I am buying modern warfare 3 tomorrow at the midnight release. But 3 of my friends wants to know if I am old enough to supervise them getting the game. They are paying for the game but I am just the supervisor. Is this okay?

No. You need to buy the game and have a ID.

No, you have to be 18+ with valid ID.

If your in the US, the age for mature games is 17+. You will probably need to provide a drivers license. You should be able to, as you are of the legal age to purchase the game, and should be able to provide consent.
