Question by : Modern Warfare 2 – What do you gain by going into prestige mode in multiplayer?
I know the first Modern Warfare game had little incentive, giving you a new icon by your name, and bragging rights. World at War, however, gave an additional custom class slot. Does Modern Warfare 2 give something special like this? I don’t want rumors or speculation, just a confirmed answer.

Answer: I think it only gives you bragging rights, a call sign, and an emblem (maybe a custom class I don’t know) ||| Opinion: I think prestige is a total waste in any CoD game.
What do you think? Answer below!

Probably emblems and bragging rights like in cod4 but I didn’t prestige in cod4 because I only started playing in April. I would prestige in MW2 because there’s so much more time.

yes there is. in fact if u check the leader board u will see quite a lot of different prestige madallions but i suggest u dont prestige cuz in modern warfare 2 u have 2 fgo through 70 levels. btw u will not be able 2 get another slot

The above answers are somewhat correct, but there is a PRACTICAL reason to get prestige. In the first MW, prestige actually gives you a better chance to be on the team with higher ranking people (and thus generally better players). Being on a better team makes all the difference, especially if you want to have fun and/or hate to lose.

It does not give you an extra custom class slot. You already have 4 when you reach level 4. It gives you different emblems and callsign pictures, bragging rights. The down side is that it re-locks EVERYTHING. So weigh the pros and cons carefully.
