I have a Playstation 3 with call of duty 4. The other day we linked up 2 playstions to play 8 player but then?

realised that we could only play one person per playstation. This seems rubbish…is there anyway around it? Also will COD 5 make it any better? like 2 people online together or more than 1 per playstation in LAN?
