What is the difference between the R and Ma rated modern warfare 2 games?

I Really want modern warfare 2 and im aussie but it is $114 here so i though i could go onto amazon but on there it is 18. Anyway what is the difference between the R rating there and Ma rating here? My dad says the blood isnt bad soo i am trying to confince him.

Well why is it rated R then and not ma in uk?

    R means the game is restricted (hence the R) for people 18 and over. MA means ‘suitable for mature audiences over 15 (I think). Anyway, mw2 isn’t really that violent but it depends on how old you are.

    The games are exactly the same. The reason why it’s rated MA by you is because of a specific level in the game where you’re a terrorist and you’re killing civilians. Because of that level that game has been banned in many countries. The game is exactly the same though.

    I’m not sure there is a difference. my guess would be that R is restricted(17 and up) and M is mature(17 and up).

    MA and R are the exact same thing in CoD there is swearing and blood thats it swearing in campaign (i think) and the nerd ragers of online
